Shifting focus

Well, sort of. My experience with a few cracked rough bowls made me think I need to get serious about my drying methods. Did I mention this before? Anyhow, I'm working on getting some rough bowls turned and soaked so I can practice the alcohol soaking method (I referred to this before as DNA soaking). I still want to finish some bowls green and thin and let them go crazy, but I'm trying to have some patience for once and let the roughed bowls dry properly to allow a nice finished non-warped product.

Enough rambling. Tonight I roughed a maple bowl, about 7 inches in diameter. Nice grain pattern, a bit ribbony. (is that a word?)

Hmmm...Patience you must have. Or all the bowls cracked will be. The force is strong within you. But learn to control it you must!
